Shipping was very fast for an overseas package. The bag itself is incredibly dyed and well made. I feel like it will get even better as it ages.

I hold minimalism in very high regard. Quality, hand-made goods, and design, as well. This bag and those who designed it, achieved perfection. From the thick, leather that becomes more pliable with each use, the beautiful indigenous braiding, handy inside pockets, smooth swivel hardware, strap fasteners, and wide comfy strap that is so comfortable.It’s just the right size for all my essentials. It’s beyond beautiful and I couldn’t be happier with it. Thank you also, for the incredibly thoughtful packaging. The notes, cards stock, and box are of such quality, I really felt like I received a gift!

I fell in love with my first Mecha Mendez bag a few years ago, and when I received my second one, I fell even harder! The craftmanship, design, and customer service are impeccable — I love the color, the charms, and the quality of the leather. Highly recommend!!
I have gotten so many compliments on this bag - every time I carry it, someone asks about it. The colorful straps are a real standout.
I had a tough time deciding between the medium and large, but I opted for the large bag because I regularly serve as the family pack mule. It is roomy and can hold my wallet, water bottle, phone, keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, and a weighty 400+ page book without issue. It isn't heavy and has softened and become more pliable with use. I did modify the braided straps to make them longer and usually carry it as a shoulder bag rather than a cross-body.
My only suggestion for improvement is to make the cross-body strap detachable - as it is now, I just fold it into the base of the bag, which works fine.
Look forward to buying another bag in the future from Mecha Mendez!
TLDR 5/5 for unique and versatile style + quality craftsmanship and materials + brand story. 3/5 for function good enough, but could be better: longer crossbody strap, different color interior and more functional slots. Knot ties of the top handles are cute but uncomfortable when worn as a crossbody, little leather balls bump against your body. Keeping the purse because I think it’s a good value and unique piece.
I have stalked reviews on this brand for over a year and there really isn’t much out there. I finally bit the bullet in March 2025 to replace my Lo & Sons Pearl, which wasn't quite big enough. Jegua Baul checked most things off my list: crossbody, top handle, not too large, versatile style (office to weekend errands), quality craftsmanship over brand name. I did not have the budget for another Mulberry Iris Small tote and honestly the interior didn't hold up very well with wear and tear. Craftsmanship of Jegua Baul is impressive, quality of leather structured but malleable I'm sure will get better with time. I splurged for the extra baubles because I like the pops of color. Things that could be improved, different color lining on the inside to avoid the black hole effect. Longer strap to accommodate larger chest + body types. With the height of the top handles and thickness of the purse style, crossbody strap isn’t quite long enough for me. One thing to note which I did not consider, the knot styling at the end of the top handle straps is a cool look but from a functionality perspective act as little bumpers when the bag is worn crossbody style. The knots bump against your body, which can get uncomfortable. All in all, still very happy with my purchase!

I received my bag and upon opening it discovered the leather was already scuffed in a number of places. It’s cute, a little difficult to get things in and out of, but the bummer was getting a product not in perfect condition
I am in utter love with my new purse. I wanted something that popped, was functional and didn’t look like every purse out there. It’s so unique and I have gotten tons of compliments. The colors literally make me happy and provide a dopamine hit! I thought the medium was going to be too small but I downsized a bit and it works wonderfully. I am thrilled with my purchase.
